RM Why did your client select timber cladding for their home?
MC They saw it on another job, liked the look of it and asked me to source it for them.
RM What aesthetic does the timber cladding create?
MC The timber cladding ties everything together with its natural colours, texture and look. It is used inside and on the exterior. It creates a high end look and achieves a modern architectural feel.
RM Why did Lifestyle Builders select Barwon Timber cladding?
MC We liked the profile and system.
RM What was the experience like from selecting the profile through to delivery to site?
MC Easy – Ryan my rep came out to site with samples and discussed the fixings and profiles available. I showed the client, got the approval and then ordered the job. It came to site on time.
RM Did Lifestyle Builders use the Barwon Timber range of stops and fixings?
MC Yes, we used the aluminium Y stops to achieve a clean blade look. We also used the star drive self tapping screws.
RM What is the cladding coated in?
MC We got Barwon Timber to pre-oil the cladding using clear Cutek CD50. The client wants the cladding to grey off over time, but getting it coated in Cutek prior to installation will help protect the timber over time.
RM Is the client (home owner) happy with the finished cladding?
MC Yes – very happy. The client was going to use a white washed timber cladding but loves the natural Spotted Gum look.
