Cassette floor systems have been tried, tested and proven to work in the commercial construction industry. Bar-Truss is working with Qikfit to take its cassette floor system to the Geelong residential building market. The system received positive feedback and interest at a recent trade breakfast held at Barwon Timber. Cassettes are typically 2.5m in length and are easy to work with on residential sites. Our cassette floor system is ideal for sites where a concrete slab is impractical.
The cassette floor system can be designed with Foilboard sub-floor insulation panels to help achieve energy ratings. High quality European OSB flooring and LVL is used to construct the cassettes. The cassette floor system is designed for your site and then manufactured at Bar-Truss. Customers are supplied with a layout plan to assist installation. We utilise our crane truck to deliver and where sites permit, can pack and place cassettes to minimise on site handling. Installation is quick and easy given it is a prefabricated product.
We worked with Qikfit and DDC Property to supply its job in Wandana Heights during March 2015. This was a pilot project for both Bar-Truss and DDC. The cassette floor system went into place seamlessly, enabling a very quick sub-floor construction. We received positive feedback from DDC, indicating it would use the system on future projects. The time lapse photos in this post were taken between 11;20am and 2:41pm with a break for lunch. This was the first cassette floor system install and as such, took a bit more time.
“Being in the domestic building industry for over 30 years, we are always interested in new products coming out on the market. The first time using this product, it arrived on site without any delays, both the standard panels and custom panels fitted together perfectly and was installed in less than 6 hours. It is a fantastic product that proved to be cost effective, time efficient and of high quality. We will definitely be using Qikfit floors again on our future projects and absolutely recommend to others.” Dean Trembath | Manager DDC Property
The cassette floor system is available to view in our hardware store for the next couple of months. The display is constructed of four standard size panels and we encourage customers to walk on it.
