500 Trees Planted in the Brisbane Ranges!

Melanie Simpson & Anita Trengrove | July, 2025

This month, our team traded forklifts and desks for dirt and shovels and spent the day planting 500 indigenous plants in the stunning Brisbane Ranges.

In partnership with Fifteen Trees and Brisbane Ranges Landcare, we’re proud to be supporting local ecosystems, community groups, and the ongoing restoration of our natural environment.

This is our fourth year working with 15 Trees to plant native vegetation. Our past three years of planting have helped create a wildlife corridor through privately owned land, supporting safe movement and habitat for koalas and other native species.

This area was chosen as part of a broader project to connect key habitat areas. Establishing multiple corridors across the region is essential for koalas, allowing them to move between food sources, shelter, and breeding grounds.

Fifteen Trees is committed to planting the right tree, in the right place, for the right reason; sourcing plants from independent nurseries and ensuring native species go back into the landscapes they belong to. It was an incredibly rewarding day spent giving back to nature and making a tangible impact.

Maree (Purchasing) coordinated our team members and shared her thoughts on the day.

"What an incredible day! We were thrilled to be part of such a meaningful initiative. Surrounded by stunning views and great company, we enjoyed a delicious morning tea and BBQ lunch after getting our hands dirty - planting 500 native shrubs and trees in the beautiful Brisbane Ranges. In partnership with Fifteen Trees, we're proud to support local communities and contribute to environmental restoration. A truly rewarding experience giving back to nature."

Thank you to the Barwon Timber team members who attended the planting in their time on a weekend. It’s wonderful to have a team who share our value of environmental sustainability and volunteering.
