At Barwon Timber, Bar-Truss and Drysdale Timber and Hardware, community is at the heart of everything we do. We’re more than local businesses – we’re part of the Geelong region, and we’re committed to giving back to the place that’s given us so much.
We proudly support a wide range of local community groups through donations, fundraising, volunteering our time, and actively taking part in community events. From grassroots sporting clubs to local charities and community initiatives, we believe that our region thrives when we all work together.
What makes our support even more meaningful is the way our team gets involved. Our people have a say in the groups and causes we partner with, ensuring we’re backing the projects and initiatives that matter most to the communities where we live and work.
For us, it’s about more than timber, trusses, and hardware – it’s about strengthening the connections that make the Geelong region such a great place to call home.
In July 2025, our team headed out to the Brisbane Ranges with shovels in hand, planting 500 native trees and shrubs in partnership with Fifteen Trees and Brisbane Ranges Landcare.
Now in our fourth year of planting, we’re proud to be helping restore local ecosystems, create wildlife corridors, and support safe habitats for koalas and other native species.

In August 2024, our team joined forces with Fifteen Trees and Brisbane Ranges Landcare to plant 500 native trees in Staughton Vale, supporting local ecosystems and community-led restoration projects.

On Sunday, August 27th 2023, the Barwon Timber team returned to Balliang to plant 500 native trees, partnering with Fifteen Trees and the Balliang Landcare Group to help create a safe “Bio Corridor” for koalas and other wildlife.

Barwon Timber proudly donated $2,025 from drink bottle sales to Lazarus Community Centre, helping provide meals, clothing, laundry, healthcare, and a listening ear to Geelong’s homeless and disadvantaged community.
We love supporting the communities we’re part of. If you’ve got a local project, event, or initiative that could use a helping hand, we’d love to hear from you.
Reach out to our team and let’s see how we can get involved.
