Product Description

Rich, dark brown cork (often categorized as "Charcoal," "Walnut," or "Espresso" in industry catalogs). This deeper palette offers a more modern, sophisticated aesthetic compared to the lighter "golden" traditional style, making it a powerful foundation for high-contrast interior design.

Installation

Storage & Acclimatisation

Store cork floorboards indoors in their original packaging for at least 48 hours before installation.
Install at a room temperature of around 18°C with 50–60% relative humidity to prevent expansion or contraction after laying.

Subfloor Requirements

The subfloor must be dry, level, clean and flat (maximum 3 mm variation over 3m).
Floating floors can be installed over hard surfaces such as tiles, timber or resilient flooring — not over carpet or soft surfaces.
Where moisture may be present, install a 0.2 mm polyethylene moisture barrier, overlapping joins by 20 cm and turning up 5 cm at the walls.

Installation Planning

Measure the room carefully to ensure the final row of boards is at least 10 cm wide.
Allow an expansion gap of 10–15 mm around all walls, pipes and fixed objects.
Expansion joints are required in large areas (over 10 m long or 8 m wide) and between rooms.
For best appearance, lay boards in the direction of the main light source.
Mix boards from multiple cartons for a natural, balanced finish.

Natural Product Variation

Cork is a natural material, so variations in colour and texture are normal and not considered defects.
