MiTek® Top Plate Stiffener

The MiTek Top Plate Stiffener is designed to reinforce single load-bearing top plates in line with AS1684 Residential Timber Construction standards. It restores the top plate's original strength when a service duct penetration is required, and can also be used on non-loadbearing top plates for wall bracing continuity.

Features:

• Compatible with 90×35 or 90×45 timber members made from MGP10 or MGP12 grade for durability.
• Service duct hole should not exceed 60mm in diameter, located between 100mm and 102mm from the stud face.

Flexible installation: When studs are spaced between 400mm and 600mm apart, position the TPSA against the stud beneath the top plate. For closer stud spacing (under 400mm) and when no truss is supported above, mount the TPSA on top of the top plate.

PlateTies provide a quick, secure fix for studs in braced panels, ensuring compliance with Type B bracing requirements.
