The original Sellwood P36 is suitable for residential use for ceiling heights 3050mm to 3660mm, common in villa and bungalow style homes built from the 1880s through to the 1930s. They are most often used to access storage space in the attic.
Given the height of the P36, Sellwood has incorporated a second stage spring system to take the weight of the bottom three sections of the ladder as they are being unfolded and folded back up again, allowing for easier operation.
