Celebrated for its rich colour, aromatic warmth, and effortless workability, Cedar is a premier timber choice for projects blending beauty, durability, and natural resistance to decay. Whether used for striking exteriors, detailed joinery, or serene interior spaces, Cedar offers a unique combination of lightweight strength and timeless appeal.
Weather Resistance: Performs superbly in harsh climates; it weathers beautifully to a silvery-grey patina if left untreated and is highly resistant to moisture absorption, reducing swelling and warping.
Remarkably Lightweight: Despite its durability, it is one of the lighter commercial timbers, making it easier to handle, transport, and install compared to many hardwoods.
Natural Durability: Contains natural oils and tannins that make it highly resistant to rot, decay, and insect attack, including termites, ensuring a long lifespan without the need for chemical treatment.
Dimensional Stability: Exhibits minimal shrinkage once seasoned, making it a stable choice for applications like exterior cladding, joinery, and outdoor structures where movement is a concern.
