Barn doors are a great alternative to swinging doors for smaller rooms, allowing a creative way to break up the space. Barn doors are also perfect for renovations when you don’t have the budget to cut into a wall to install a cavity sliding door.

Barn doors are easy to install and are face-mounted onto a wall. They are available in a range of custom sizes, depending on the door design and supplier selected. Additionally, we offer a variety of barn door tracks in a matt black finish.

Find the Perfect Barn Door for your Home

Transform your home with a barn door from Barwon Timber. We work closely with our suppliers, Hume Doors and Corinthian, to ensure that you find the perfect addition to complete any look.

Barn doors take up less space than swinging doors, which need clearance to open and close. This makes them an ideal choice for small rooms or spaces where a swinging door would be impractical.

Most of the internal doors we offer can be turned into barn doors, providing you with multiple design options to suit your home and create a cohesive look. Our barn doors are available in a range of finishes including American White Oak veneer that’s perfect for staining, or a Primed finish, which allows for a smooth paint finish that can match any color scheme.

If you have a custom design in mind or would like to learn more about our range of barn doors, hardware and accessories, we recommend visiting our Geelong showroom.

FAQs

What size barn doors are available?

Barn Doors generally come in the following standard sizes:

2150 x 1000 x 35mm
2450 x 1000 x 35mm

If you need a custom size barn door, we recommended contacting our Showroom team.

What size opening do I need for a barn door?

The combined width of the doors should equal the width of the opening, plus at least 1 inch. This provides 1/2 inch of overlap between the two doors when they are closed. Some minor variations exist among bypass door kits from different manufacturers, which are all easy to install.

Can my barn door jump off its track?

No, if installed correctly a barn door will not jump off its tracks. The track system comes with all the necessary parts, including the stops and guides.
