Cypress pine is a naturally durable timber sourced from New South Wales and Queensland.

Though cypress pine is a softwood, it is a durable timber that rates Class 1 Above Ground, and Class 2 In Ground, making it popular for fence posts, pergolas, beams and other external feature projects.

Barwon Timber stocks cypress pine in a range of lengths and sizes including:

A very durable timber, cypress pine is ideal for playgrounds and renowned for its natural resistance to termite attack. This means it needs no further chemical treatment. It is sourced from PEFC/AFS-certified forests. Cypress pine is structurally rated as F7, so it can be used where structural timber is required.

Off the shelf, cypress pine is sawn-finished, but it can be dressed to order.

Note: After dressing, the timber surface checks more, and this is why pre-dressed material comes wrapped in plastic. This helps to slow down the checking process. Painting immediately after dressing also slows down this process.
